Business & Conservation
ZSL is committed to working with companies who share their conservation mission both nationally and internationally.
Within a mutually beneficial relationship, ZSL offers partner companies exceptional benefits:
- Scientific expertise into sustainability agenda
- The chance to gain competitive advantage leading the way in sustainable practice
- Meaningful association with a well known conservation charity
ZSL has a unique role in conservation education. Its two zoos attract over 1.6 million visitors per year. The outstanding collections of animals, many of which are threatened in the wild, provide a context to inspire and educate this huge audience about contemporary environmental issues. Conservation partnerships with ZSL can be linked with zoo sites to become an integrated part of ZSL’s educational messages.
As with sponsorship and membership, will can tailor a package to include volunteering, team building, access to ZSL zoos and entertainment venues, and opportunities to go behind the scenes with the animals.
Timbmet & ZSL, Wildlife Wood Project

Timbmet are leading distributors of hardwoods in the UK, and source much of their product from Ghana, Africa. Timbmet and ZSL have developed the Wildlife Wood Project to demonstrate to customers and retailers that they are buying from a source that is sustainable for wildlife.
Timbmet wanted to involve its UK employees in the project and ZSL facilitated opportunities for Timbmet’s UK staff to meet ZSL conservationists. Together, they designed a children’s trail at London and Whipsnade zoos, showing how organisations and individuals can make choices for sustainability.
