Clore Rainforest Lookout Biome

Keeping animals in captivity
How does the Zoo meet both the needs of the animals and that of the visitors? This session focuses on enclosure design and development, animal care, feeding enrichment and the visitor experience.

The green team
Following an overview of the most common threats to wildlife, we use a selection of activities to highlight some conservation problems and solutions. A thought-provoking session.

Darwin’s zoo
To commemorate 200 years since his birth, we look at some of the factors that influenced the curious, young Darwin - including trips to ZSL London Zoo. An ideal opportunity to look at how science works in an historical context.

Science in our workplace (for Years 9 - 11)
Using the Zoological Society of London as a case study, we discuss the role and skills of a range of scientific careers, including veterinary work, conservation science and zoo keeping.

Health and safety in the workplace (for Years 10 - 11)
